What is All-on-4 Therapy?
All-on-4 is a system in which fixed prosthetic teeth are placed on the same day by placing angled implants without the need for advanced surgical applications in people who have no teeth or who need to have all their teeth extracted. This method aims to eliminate chewing and social life problems caused by tooth loss by offering a fast and effective solution to completely edentulous individuals.
What are the Advantages of All On 4 Treatment?
All-on-4 fixed prostheses are hybrid prostheses that cannot be removed by the patient but can be inserted and removed by the physician during periodic controls. Thanks to these features, especially in patients who have lost all their teeth due to gum problems, both brushing the teeth is easier and periodic checks are completed in a healthier way.
In many cases, implants can be placed and fixed prostheses can be completed on the same day without the need for advanced bone augmentation (sinus lifting) in the posterior regions, reducing costs and saving time. It also prevents the person from falling behind in chewing and social life activities due to toothlessness. Patients are fitted with fixed teeth on the day their teeth are extracted.
How is the All On 4 System Implemented?
In completely edentulous individuals or if there are teeth that need to be extracted, 4 to 6 implants are placed in the jaw at the same time. On the same day, temporary fixed teeth are screwed into the mouth. After 3-6 months of healing, permanent dentures are placed.
What will my diet be like after the All On Four procedure?
After the procedure, you can use your temporary denture fixed on the dental implants immediately. These prostheses provide great comfort in terms of both aesthetics and eating. However, during the 3-month period when the dental implants and bone are fused, you need to eat a diet recommended by your doctor. After the 3-month period is completed, you can eat as you wish with your permanent prosthesis.
What Differentiates Hybrid Prosthesis from Other Prosthesis Applications?
With the developing technology, hybrid prosthesis designs are made in digital environment and with the development of prosthetic materials, soft tissue loss can be eliminated more easily and the gaps between the teeth can be filled aesthetically by using pink porcelain for the gums. An important advantage of hybrid prostheses is that they reduce and evenly distribute the stresses on the prosthesis in the mouth.
Hybrid prostheses can be easily used in both complete and partial tooth loss. It is frequently used in patients with moderate to severe bone resorption and in patients who have lost all their teeth due to gum problems. Since it cannot be removed by the patient but can be inserted and removed by the physician during periodic controls, regular cleaning and polishing can be done easily. Thus, it is tried to prevent gum problems again.
